Larry Gerdes

Larry Gerdes | CEO & Executive Chairman

Mr. Gerdes has served as CEO of Pursuant Health (Formerly SoloHealth), a private health-care company in Atlanta, since February, 2014, and as its Executive Chairman of the Board since November 2013 and as its Chairman since 2012. Since 1983, Mr. Gerdes has also served as a general partner of Sand Hill Financial Company, a venture capital partnership. Mr. Gerdes is a general partner of Gerdes Huff Investments and a major shareholder and President of Friesland Farms, LLC . Mr. Gerdes formerly served as Chairman and CEO of Transcend Services, concluding with the sale of that company in April 2012 and as a director of Access Plans, Inc., from 2001 until its sale in June, 2012. Mr. Gerdes previously served as Chairman of the board of Pursuant Health (Formerly SoloHealth) and on the board of CBOT Holdings. Mr. Gerdes is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for The Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and serves as trustee for Monmouth College.

Joe Stephens

Joe Stephens | Chief Financial Officer

Joe Stephens, Chief Financial Officer, started with Pursuant Health (Formerly SoloHealth) in March, 2013. In his role with the Company, Joe oversees the finance, accounting and fundraising activities. During his time with the Company, Joe has managed sales, implementations, delivery and reporting, and implemented many processes to streamline and improve the efficiency of these organizations.

Prior to Pursuant Health, Joe was VP of Process Improvement at Nuance Communications, where he created scorecards to measure and maintain field operations, managed 12 overseas vendor relationships and drove operational efficiencies through process improvement initiatives. He also spent time in sales at Tractor & Equipment Company, where he developed a new business unit within the organizational framework of the larger company.

Joe was recognized as the top salesman in the country for Komatsu Utility in 2006 and holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business, with a concentration in finance and marketing. In his time away from Pursuant Health, Joe enjoys investing in the stock market, learning about sustainable energy and spending time at the beach. Joe also was a member of the varsity football team at Auburn University.

Ryan Sloan | Chief Revenue Officer

Ryan Sloan, Chief Revenue Officer, oversees consumer marketing, product strategy, partnerships, and new business ventures for Pursuant Health.

Prior to his time at Pursuant Health, Ryan spent 12 years with Aetna in Corporate Strategy, Sales and P&L Management. He led a high profile division to exceed an aggressive 2012 Sales Plan by 40%, accounting for one third of Aetna’s growth that year. He worked closely with leaders from premier health systems and medical groups across the country to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for launch of 12 joint-products. He was also in charge of special projects including Aetna’s Health Care Reform implementation and strategic business planning post-Reform for the Mid America region.

Ryan holds a BA in Economics from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family, and is a legal citizen of three countries – the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Robert Lort

Robert Lort | Senior VP of Operations

Robert Lort, Senior Vice President of Operations, oversees the production, deployment and support of the Pursuant Health kiosks. Since 2011 when Robert joined the company, the number of kiosks in market has vastly increased – going from less than 100 kiosks deployed nationwide to over 3,500. Robert successfully deployed those machines and scaled the company’s support team during that short period. He has also been an instrumental figure in developing partnerships with companies such as Dell and NCR.

Prior to his time with Pursuant Health, Robert was responsible for the deployment of Horizon Software’s POS systems in various vertical markets including major hospital systems, colleges and universities, retirement facilities and private schools across the country. Professional organizations he is tied to include Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and Operations Managers of America.

In his time away from Pursuant Health, Robert enjoys watching his two sons play baseball and basketball, keeping up with the latest trends in technology and playing the drums.

Scott Robertson

Scott Robertson | Chief Technology Officer

Scott Robertson, Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for overseeing  Product Development, Infrastructure, Data & Integration, Technical Operations, Technical Support, Ad Operations, Customer Service and Regulatory & Compliance for Pursuant Health.

Prior to joining Pursuant Health, Scott spent 16 years with Transcend Services building and managing their software technology platforms, product management, infrastructure and technology operations teams and HIPAA & SOX compliance programs.  He managed teams that were geographically dispersed across the United States as well as internationally.  Scott helped lead Transcend through multiple acquisitions and the complex technology and platform integrations that followed.  The success of Transcend ultimately resulted in it’s acquisition by Nuance Communications in 2012 for $300MM.  Post acquisition, Scott spent the following two years leading five separate software engineering teams for their mid-market platforms that were responsible for contributing over 200MM in annual revenue.

Scott has a BS in Geology and a MS in Geochemistry from Georgia State University.

Jared Safran

Jared Safran | Vice President of Quality Innovation

Jared Safran, Vice President of Quality Innovation, oversees the quality components of the organization and focuses on driving growth for the population health side of the business. He is passionate about using engagement to motivate and drive change in individuals.

Prior to his time at Pursuant Health, Jared spent 4 years with a large payer organization, Centene, working in both the pharmacy department and clinical outcomes unit. He led the medication adherence team and focused on improving quality ratings for the organization. He co-led the diabetic eye exam campaign and flu initiative for the health plan. He also spent nearly 4 years at Children’s Heathcare of Atlanta (CHOA).

Prior to him living in Georgia he worked for a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) organization in the Chicago area. Jared holds a BA in Economics from Vassar College, MS in Biomedical Science from Midwestern University, and a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University. He enjoys spending time and traveling with his family and playing tennis.

Kathryn Laughlin

Kathryn Laughlin | Vice President of Sales

Kathryn Laughlin, Vice President of Sales, is responsible for the sales strategy and revenue growth for our organization. In 2011, Kathryn joined the company on the Operations team overseeing the national kiosk rollout in all retail locations, product integrations and implementations of our platform with employers and managed care organizations. Prior to Pursuant Health, Kathryn was a project manager for the Vertical Market team at Horizon Software leading POS installations in hospitals, colleges and universities, retirement facilities and large institutions, such as The Federal Reserve Bank. She also managed HL7 integration projects for hospitals throughout the country. After years of project management experience, she was able to complete her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in 2012. Kathryn holds a BA in Journalism and MBA, both from The University of Georgia. When she is away from Pursuant Health, she enjoys playing piano, golfing, volunteering and traveling.
Henry McAlpin

Henry McAlpin | Vice President of Sales

Henry McAlpin, Vice President of Sales, is responsible for leading and developing our population health revenue channels within the managed care space. He works with some of the largest managed care organizations in the country to help deliver innovation in consumer healthcare engagement strategies.

Prior to joining Pursuant Health, Henry spent 6 years working as a Sales Executive in New York City for early stage technology startups and Fortune 500 companies. Henry grew revenue channels, managed direct sales campaigns, and led strategic channel sales relations.

In his various positions, Henry developed an expertise in consumer-focused engagement, including user experience, purchasing behavior, and online optimization. He brings that knowledge base to Pursuant Health to address a void in disruptive, consumer focused solutions in an aging healthcare environment.

When away from work, you are likely to find Henry hanging out with friends, exploring the outdoors, or working on various woodworking projects with his father and brothers. Prior to his time in NYC, Henry attended Auburn University, where he graduated with a BBA in Finance.

 

Jeff Marwill

Jeff Marwill | Regional VP of Sales

Jeff Marwill, Regional Vice President of Sales, is responsible for sales strategy and revenue growth for Pursuant Health.  Prior to his time at Pursuant Health, Jeff was a Client Outcomes Executive for Nuance Communications.  In this role, Jeff was responsible for growing revenue across multiple product and service lines and managing strategic relationships with some of the largest U.S. healthcare customers.  Jeff has also held operational roles with responsibility for US and Asia Operations as well as technology roles with responsibility for systems management and software development efforts.

Jeff holds a Master’s of Science in Health Informatics from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and a BA from The University of Texas at Austin.  Jeff enjoys outdoor activities with his family including coaching and playing soccer, waterskiing, wakeboarding and other water sports.

Stephanie Myers | VP of Advertising Sales

Stephanie Myers, Vice President of Advertising Sales, oversees the consumer marketing division of Pursuant Health. In this role she works with brands and agencies to provide creative solutions to clients’ unique marketing challenges and drive results.

Prior to joining Pursuant Health, Stephanie spent nearly 10 years with iHeartMedia creating and managing marketing campaigns for a diverse portfolio of local and national advertisers. Throughout this time, Stephanie built a strong reputation amongst her clients for being extremely customer-focused, providing industry research, competitive insights, and thoughtful strategies that made her a true partner in her clients’ business.

Stephanie holds bachelor’s degrees in communication and sociology from Stanford University. Outside of Pursuant Health, Stephanie enjoys traveling, running, and working with several non-profit organizations.

Anthony Hicks

Anthony Hicks | Director of Sales

Anthony O. Hicks, Director of Sales, is father of four and married to the former Maria Baez. He is from Strong, Arkansas and has been a resident of Fayetteville for over 20 years. Anthony obtained his Retail Marketing and Administration degree from the Sam Walton School of Business after his junior year of eligibility and began his master’s coursework. He was a four year letterman for the Arkansas Razorbacks football team and a member of the 1995 SEC West Championship Team.

In 1997, Anthony was drafted in the 5th round 160 pick in the National Football League by the 1996 Super Bowl Champions Green Bay Packers. He spent a total of 4 years in professional football between the NFL and the CFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Edmonton Eskimos.

After he retired from professional football, Anthony returned to Northwest Arkansas where he began his new career with Tyson Foods—first in their HR training group, and then with the Walmart and Sam’s Club sales team. He later continued his career with the Dial Corporation as a National Account Manager. Since then, he has worked for large and small consumer goods companies in the cosmetics, HBA, household chemicals, and Dry Grocery/Food categories. In each instance, he has sold hundreds of new items, expanded existing item distribution, and surpassed sales goals. Anthony has successfully managed retail operations groups and currently leads a joint venture with Retail Integrity Merchandising Solutions, Inc. as VP of Business Development. Anthony has over 15 years’ experience in Sales and Operations.

Alana Pendleton

Alana Pendleton | Director of User Experience

Alana Pendleton, Director or User Experience, leads strategic thinking, creative concepting, and engaging design efforts to construct intuitive, ubiquitous platforms across all engagement channels. She employs human-centered usability testing methodologies emphasizing the user journey, behavior patterns, task analyses, and cognitive walkthroughs in the retail environment. Her primary focus at Pursuant Health is constructing a truly engaging, user-focused approach to population health. Additionally, Alana led the development of the Health Age Assessment (Codeveloped with Cleveland Clinic Wellness).

Alana holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Atlanta, and is currently an MS candidate at Georgia Tech where she studies HCI (Human Computer Interaction). When she is away from Pursuant Health, she enjoys practicing yoga.

Gillian Mashall

Gillian Marshall | Product Manager

Gillian Marshall, Product Manager, works closely with the technology and marketing teams to create wellness solutions that are innovative, engaging and accessible to the public. With a background in social marketing and health communication, Gillian applies her experience in behavioral economics and health literacy to design offerings that overcome common healthcare barriers and engage a wide range of populations. Since joining Pursuant Health in 2015, Gillian has been responsible for both business and consumer-facing content development, grant applications, patent filings and overall public health initiatives. Gillian contributed to the development of the Health Age Assessment and led the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) certification process for the assessment in March 2016.

Gillian holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Public Health in Health Promotion & Behavior, both from the University of Georgia.

Stanley Blaylock | Board Member

Stanley Blaylock‚ Board Member of Pursuant Health, began his career in health care investment banking, ultimately rising to the role of Global Co-Head of Health Care Investment Banking at (Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown). He then co-founded specialty pharmacy solutions company Medmark, where he served as its EVP, CFO and CAO until his promotion to President and CEO in 2005. 

When Walgreens acquired Medmark in 2006, Blaylock joined the company, and went on to become Walgreens SVP and President of Walgreens Health Services.  Blaylock currently serves as the President and CEO of Physicians Immediate Care, a leading urgent care company in the Midwest. Blaylock holds a degree in economics and communication studies from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Blaylock is also a Fellow of the CEO Perspective Program from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and Corporate Leadership Center.

Peter A. Krivkovich | Board Member

Peter A. Krivkovich, Board Member of Pursuant Health,  is a founding member of AdRoll, an online advertising company, where he oversees the company’s finance, sales and operations.

Prior to AdRoll, Krivkovich served in leadership roles spanning, finance, business development, product management and sales. He spent two years in investment banking at ABN AMRO doing M&A and was in business development and then product management at Everdream Corporation. Krivkovich also helped oversee Good Technology’s 100-person sales team, before moving into a finance role with the company.

Krivkovich holds a BA in Economics from Emory University, an MBA from Harvard Business School and studied economics at the London School of Economics.

John Jesser | Board Member

John Jesser, Board Member of Pursuant Health,  serves as the vice president of Provider Engagement Strategy for WellPoint, Inc., the nation’s largest health benefits company. In this capacity, Mr. Jesser manages a company wide process that looks at healthcare-related functions to improve the affordability of health care; the consumer experience and access to care. He leads the company’s telehealth strategy as the general manager of LiveHealth Online, an online care solution for consumers and providers being offered to Anthem’s customers. Mr. Jesser focuses on solutions and digital tools that improve the connection between doctors, hospitals, consumers and health plans. Previously, Mr. Jesser served for more than 24 years in various management positions within the health care field.

Mr. Jesser earned his Bachelor or Science degree in mass communications from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and an MBA from Cleveland State University.

Mr. Jesser serves on the board for Availity, LLC, a company that provides connectivity between health care payers and providers and is chairman of the board of National TeleHealth Network (NTN), a physician management company founded as a joint venture between American Well and WellPoint. He serves as the youth director at Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Currently, Mr. Jesser lives in Brecksville, Ohio, with his wife, Erin, and five children.

Jamie Parisi | Board Member

Mr. James E. Parisi, Board Member of Pursuant Health, serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Managing Director of Finance and Corporate Development at The Board of Trade of the City of Chicago, Inc. Mr. Parisi served as the Chief Financial Officer of CME Group Inc. (Formerly Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc.) from November 2, 2004 to December 10, 2014. He served as Senior Managing Director of Finance & Corporate Development of CME Group Inc. since February 2010. Mr. Parisi served as Managing Director of CME Group Inc. from February 2004 to February 2010. Mr. Parisi served as Chief Financial Officer of Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Inc. (CME), a subsidiary of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc., since November 2, 2004 and also served its Managing Director from February 2004 to November 2004 and also served as its Treasurer. He served as the Treasurer of Planning and Finance at Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. and CME from February 2004 to November 2004. He has been an Independent Director of Cotiviti Holdings, Inc. since May 2015. He has served in several leadership positions in CME’s finance division since joining it in 1988 as an internal auditor. Before joining CME, he served as an auditor for Arthur Andersen LLP. He served as Director of Planning and Finance of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. and Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. from March 2000 to June 2000 and as its Vice President of Planning & Finance from November 1998 to March 2000. Mr. Parisi served as Director of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. and Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. from June 2000 to February 2004. He earned a BS degree in finance from the University of Illinois in 1987 and an MBA degree in finance from the University of Chicago in 1995.
