March 6th, 2018 – (Atlanta, GA) – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, recently announced Pursuant Health as one of its Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia. TAG will recognize this prestigious group at The Summit 2018 on March 20th and 21st, 2018, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
TAG’S Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact, and their efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia’s technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and globally. This year’s Top 40 were selected from among over 100 applications submitted by companies from across Georgia.
“The 2018 Top 40 finalists are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia’s Technology community,” said Larry Williams, president & CEO of TAG. “The 2018 Top 40 finalists are shining examples of what makes our State such a hotbed for technology and we applaud them for standing out as leaders in Georgia’s technology community.”
Pursuant Health screens more than 30 million Americans every year through its network of more than 3,600 self-service kiosks. In late 2017, the company introduced the integration of the first retinal screening imagers into its kiosks. The goal: prevent 95 percent of avoidable vision loss cases with early detection. Because diabetic retinopathy impacts up to 85% of individuals with diabetes, the ability to increase the total number of screenings can significantly reduce instances of preventable blindness and overall healthcare costs simultaneously.
“Documented compliance with annual retinal exams is often less than 50 percent,” says Pursuant Health Chief Revenue Officer Ryan Sloan. “Our ability to use a health kiosk to capture retinal images, coordinate with eye specialists for processing, and report results back to primary care physicians in the most convenient way possible changes the game for all concerned, especially health plans. We are honored to have TAG acknowledge our commitment to healthcare innovation as part of the 2018 TAG Top 40.”
“In this particular program, we seek to both incentivize individuals to engage in their health and prevent cases of avoidable blindness at the same time,” says Sloan. “For health plans, we seek to improve quality metrics and revenue as compliance with annual retinal examinations is one of the most difficult HEDIS and Star Rating quality measures to impact.”
The 2018 Summit is expected to draw more than 1,500 C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia’s technology community.
